Main Characteristics and Values:
These are the people who flock to the haunted houses and mazes
every Halloween. They Love to go get scared! Often tired of the mundane in life,
these people seek out ways to enliven it. While they love a good scare, they
appreciate a little bit of cheesiness here and there too (as long as it isn't
too cheesy). The majority are on the younger side of life, but not exclusively
so. Most often they enjoy going in groups so that they can collectively get
lost in this world (and sometimes to keep themselves from getting too scared).
They enjoy being a critic, and judging all parts of the haunted house, and to
see what other’s thought of them as well.
Likely/Unlikely to Persuade:
A well done performance. This is the most important element! It
doesn't need to be the latest technology, or the fanciest costume, but it does
need to be well performed.
Also, a tasteful amount of blood. There does need to be various
scary things, like blood and such, but these must remain as compliments to the
whole. Think of it as salt in a recipe. You need some salt, but when salt
becomes the main player the whole dish is ruined.
Test Case: Attending a Play:
This group would respond well to an invitation to a play, for they
enjoy getting outside of everyday life. In order to attract this audience
though the play must be about something fantastical, simple plays commenting on
life will not do for them. If it was a horror play they certainly would enjoy
it, and the more suspense the better. They are quickly turned off if the play
is too cheesy, and they are not afraid to voice their displeasure.
