Too many broadcast executives believe that radio is dead. They couldn't be more wrong. As an assistant producer at BYU Radio, I'm here to share some ideas about how radio can continue to play a vibrant role within broadcast organizations, if given appropriate attention and utilized properly.
I enjoyed your allusion to "standing on the shoulders of giants" when you stated that ideas weren't discarded simply because they were "old" in the Enlightenment. However, we know that new tools (both physical, and means of reason) were developed and embraced in the Enlightenment. Great thinkers and researchers also opened up their ideas and inventions to the improvement of future generations. While I agree that there are many positive characteristics of radio, I see the combination of television and social media as a way to reach and entertain the public, even when they are segmented.
