Feast Upon the Words of Christ

Every member of the Church should study the scriptures daily. The scriptures consist of canonized works as well as words of modern-day prophets [Definition]. Seriously studying the scriptures is not simply scanning a few verses and skipping on one’s way; it is focusing in on details, patterns, and real-life applications [Contraries]. Surely the more time and attention that one gives to the scriptures, the more spiritual revelations he or she will receive. Conversely, if scripture study is neglected, the Spirit will be unable to communicate to the individual [Cause/Effect][Degree]. Prophets from all ages have urged us to study the revelations [Authority]; furthermore, God Himself has promised power to those who search and ponder His word [Supernatural].  The very scriptures command us to “feast upon the words of Christ” (2 Nephi 32:3) [Documents]. Studying the scriptures is one part of the larger goal to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ [Genus/Species]. I know from personal experience that consistently studying the scriptures invites divine guidance into my life [Witness]. If members study in a dedicated and diligent way they will be blessed with happiness and peace [Antecedent/Consequence].

  1. you're cool mindee. I'm going to go read my scriptures as soon as i finish posting on your blog! I think you brought up some great insights. I also like how you pointed out that some of the topics of invention can be used simultaniously!

  2. Did a lot of the things that you said come pretty automatically? What you said in the mini-essay sounded really familiar, it is cool to see how much we use these topics of invention in the church. I know that I've read or said myself many of the things that you wrote. (Testimony/witness)
