Dolly, the doe, was dining at the edge of a drop overlooking
the ocean. The starving sailors had
fished fruitlessly, finding nothing. Looking
up, prayers to providence provided the plump pronghorn on the cliff above. Dolly was a true catch. As the shipbound sailor lifted his loaded muzzleloader, he mused, "When we wait and pray, then God gives ear. Though forlorn and near-forsaken, faith, not fear, fuels our journey." Then...BOOM! She
was surprised the sailors shot her.
Doubting the danger would come from the depths of The Deep, she always
kept her one eye on the treacherous terrain.
With her last breath, she sighed “Dear me, I didn’t see it coming!”
